The machine has a turn-table, which can be swung through 90° or 110°, the lapping spindle and the disc drive spindle speeds can be steplessly adjusted. The burnishing disc quill is driven by a multi-vee belt, whereas the lapping spindle is driven by a motor-spindle. With the turntable and slide movement combination, a radius can be generated instead of a sharp edge between the diameter and shoulder lapping faces on the burnishing disc.
